ARTiFact: In 1946 he married Juliet Browner in a double wedding with friends and fellow-artists, Max Ernst and Dorothea Tanning. When he died in 1976 he was interred with an epitaph that reads: “unconcerned, but not indifferent”; when Juliet died in 1991 she was interred in the same tomb – her epitaph reads: “together again.”
