On Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, hundreds of museums and cultural venues across the country will also open their doors to visitors FREE of charge. It’s all part of Museum Day, the annual event hosted by Smithsonian magazine.

Museum Day is said to be a “celebration of the dissemination of knowledge to anyone and everyone interested, without a price tag.”
