Mitsie’s Memories: At Home with Linda Le Kinff
A Park West Gallery exclusive • By Mitsie Scaglione
For these many years when traveling to Paris, we have always stayed at the Hotel Montreal by the Paris Opera, a small hotel with 23 rooms where “everybody knows your name.” The proprietor Madame Jacqueline and her assistant, Monsieur Jacques, become our Paris family. We could always depend on them to assist us with our artist appointments, many of which took place in the lovely sitting room of the hotel. It was there that we first met Linda Le Kinff and her husband, Jacques.
Linda arrived with a portfolio of her artwork and soon the sitting room was arrayed with her paintings. We were very interested in work and she suggested we visit her home in Rambouillet. We agreed, and the next morning Jacques picked us up and off we went to their home.
As you can see in the photograph, their home is a beautiful three-story structure that they have restored to its original beauty. Linda has set up her studio in the garden room with picturesque windows looking over the beautifully landscaped yard.
As we toured the yard, I was able to get a photograph of Linda’s cat that she has used as a model many times in her paintings.
When it was lunchtime, we indulged in the culinary expertise of Jacques, with four courses and a different wine for each course.
Through the years we have been together with Linda and Jacques at many of Linda’s openings and have many memories of visits together in Paris, Tel Aviv and at our Park West Gallery in Southfield, Michigan.

Enjoyed your post. We had the honor of meeting Linda and Jacques this past summer on our VIP event. Linda’s work was one of my first investments almost 10 years ago with Parkwest, which still hangs in my bedroom with my latest piece purchased this past summer. She is a remarkable lady and artist. Thank you for sharing.
When I lived in Paris in the late 60’s. I had the good fortune of being able to visit many artist’s studios as I began my collection of art. Whenever I purchased a piece of art the artist would invariably open a bottle of wine to celebrate. Many years later my very first acquisition at Park West was a Linda Le Kinff at the gallery in Michigan. Thanks for sharing pictures of her home and studio in France !!! and — of the beautiful lunch which Jaques prepared !
I enjoyed the article and as an artist I enjoyed seeing Linda’s studio ~ My studio is full of light but does not have the view Linda enjoys, but perhaps one day. I’m getting ready for exhibition at the New York Art Expo on the Hudson River in March and would love to hear from Linda if she has any suggestions, from artist to artist, how she prepares for Large Exhibitions ~
