Park West Gallery Las Vegas invites you to view the incredible exhibition, Resilience & Radiance: A Journey Through Color, Nature, and the Human Spirit, featuring artworks by Cris X and Trung Cao.

The two artists may come from varied upbringings, but they both largely draw upon their more youthful years for subject matter inspiration.

Cris X, originally from New York City, was immersed in the custom culture that sparked his love for cars and hot rods. Later in his childhood, his years spent in South Florida were where he became passionate about the ocean and surfing. The culmination of his experiences has become the greatest influence on his work.

Today he is best known for his custom painted sea life sculptures, layered paintings on aluminum, which he has coined “aluminations,” and his Disney Fine Artwork.

Trung Cao and his family fled communism during the Vietnam War when he was a child. They endured unimaginable strife during their escape and ended up in North Carolina in the end. Cao remembers creating art as a form of escape through all of it. For many years, Cao painted in acrylic until moving on to oil about two decades ago after admiring the masters’ work. His artwork often feels alive—fluid and expressive, inviting the viewer to experience rather than simply observe.

Today the two contemporaries join forces to present their extraordinary artworks, each of which thoughtfully conveys the intricacies of the natural world and the human spirit.
