Emotional Expression in SoHo: The Art of Anna August & Stephen Fishwick

In Anna August, Art & Gallery News, New York Museum, Stephen Fishwick

We all have an emotional connection to where we grew up. This is especially true for these artists. Anna August was raised in Jamaica, and her deep connection to her homeland radiates through her vibrant, expressive works. Stephen Fishwick grew up on a farm in Ohio, where his early fascination with animals sparked a lifelong creative passion. This October 17–23, experience the emotional expressionism of both artists at our SoHo gallery.

As Fishwick’s artistic journey evolved, so did his unmistakable style. His animal portraits evolved to showcase endangered species around the world, along with his philanthropic efforts to save them. He also fell in love with drawing the human face and form, creating unique portraits of icons such as Jimmy Hendrix and Albert Eisnstien. His dynamic take on pop culture earned him the title of Disney Fine Artist, allowing him to bring his signature energy to beloved Disney characters featured in parks and galleries worldwide.

As one of the most vibrant and soulful artists in contemporary art, August pours her entire Jamaican culture onto the canvas. Every work of art tells a story. They are stories of family, joy, resilience and the beauty of everyday moments seen through the eyes of this rising star of the art world. Her work has been the face of the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C. and she’s collaborated with giants like Apple. After sold-out gallery shows worldwide, she brings her bold, vibrant collection to SoHo.

Join us to experience the passion and emotion these artists bring to their work. This exhibition is unlike any other—and a rare opportunity to add art that is both critically acclaimed and deeply moving to your personal collection.
