Get Lucky with Live Painting in Vegas by Karma Reyes

On September 10–13 and September 16–20, you can watch Reyes’ creative process as she paints live at the Park West Las Vegas Gallery from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Reyes is a self-taught mixed-media painter and a Las Vegas native, perhaps the source of her strong sense of color and environmental inspiration. Paired with an introspective mindset, she brings energy and originality to every painting, whether an abstract, self-portrait, or naturalist memoryscape.

When starting a piece, Reyes has no fixed composition in mind. Instead, her process is guided by allowing the work to reveal itself through the addition, removal, and revision of color as she paints. Rather than simply applying acrylics or oils to a canvas or mural, Reyes considers herself part of the creative process, allowing the subject to take shape organically.

When she paints, you’re immersed in an ongoing exploration of color and connection, whether to self, nature, or humanity. Reyes openly and unapologetically explores cerebral and existential themes, including consciousness, the duality of personality, and self-acceptance. And with a first name like Karma, perhaps it’s fitting that connection and introspection are at the heart of her work.
