Andrea Knox: Capturing the Present Moment in Las Vegas

Experience art as it happens. Our own Las Vegas artist, Andrea Knox, brings her dynamic creative process to the Las Vegas Park West Gallery for a series of live painting events. This is your chance to interact with the artist while watching the act of creation in person. This exclusive engagement event is for two weekends only, November 13-16 and November 27-30.
Knox became a full-time painter after going through the pandemic. The experience clarified a profound need in her for authentic connection, leading her to reprioritize art as her central focus. Since 2021, she has become a prolific painter. This is evident in her recently completed a prestigious, six-month Emerging Artist in Residence with the First Friday Foundation. During those six months, she completed over 20 paintings. In addition to that, she created a number of murals, a host of small plein air studies and even experimented with body paints.
Her work is a vivid exploration of the imperfections of memory and human interiority, capturing the fleeting feelings a photograph can’t fully reveal. Inspired by artists like Andrew Wyeth and Alex Grey, nature and the local art community, Knox masterfully blends realism with symbolic abstraction onto the canvas. She takes the emotional implosion of modern life and compresses it into a single, specific place filled with nostalgia for the present moment.
In her work, we are one with our dream state and with all our senses. This confluence of self and nature jumps off the canvas. And you can watch it happen in this unique opportunity to witness the creation of art that honors the beautiful, imperfect loop between self, nature, and spirit. See Andrea Knox in her element at the Las Vegas Park West Gallery’s live painting event, where every brushstroke is a peek into the artist’s soul.
