See the American West Through New Eyes: Lori McCoy Live Painting in Las Vegas

Step into a world where the familiar feels just a little off. Award-winning contemporary painter Lori McCoy will be painting live at Park West Gallery in Las Vegas from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., July 16–19 and July 23–26.
A self-taught artist based in nearby Henderson, Nevada, McCoy creates surreal, symbolic narratives rooted in the landscapes and culture of the American West. Her cinematic desert skies, evocative figures, and carefully composed scenes transform everyday Americana into emotionally charged stories that invite viewers to look beyond the surface.
McCoy’s paintings explore the tension between vulnerability and resilience. Having experienced homelessness as a teenager, she developed a profound awareness of what it means to feel unseen, a perspective that continues to shape her work today. Through recurring symbols, expressive characters, and dreamlike settings, she creates paintings that balance beauty with mystery, strength with fragility, and nostalgia with subtle unease.
Her work has been exhibited nationally, including at the Venetian in Las Vegas and Woman Made Gallery in Chicago, and has earned numerous honors, including Best in Show at the Reno Tahoe International Art Show (Independent Artist) and Best in Show at City Lights Art Gallery.
Experience McCoy’s creative process firsthand as each painting comes to life before your eyes. Meet the artist, ask questions, and explore her latest collection on exhibit exclusively at Park West Gallery, located in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, Level Two near the Spiral Escalator. It’s a rare opportunity to witness compelling stories unfold, one brushstroke at a time.
