SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Nov. 5, 2015 – On Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, Autumn de Forest will be honored as the recipient of the respected International Vatican Award in Painting and Art.

The award and its nominations are granted to those outstanding young individuals under age 35 who have shown extraordinary talent in the fields of knowledge and art, and who have shown themselves to be exemplary role models to their community and ‘a genuine moral and educational example in society’s development.’

Autumn’s artwork will be on display at Gallery Coronari in Rome (http://www.coronari111.com/)

Autumn de Forest is an extremely prolific and well known painter who, at the remarkable age of 5, began building what would eventually become an incredible oeuvre of works. Her exhibitions have defined her as one of the most accomplished and recognized artistic prodigies of our time. Her original masterpieces have sold for tens of thousands of dollars, and have been acquired by several major art collectors.  Autumn is also the youngest artist ever to have their artwork housed in Park West Gallery’s carefully curated collections.

The award was founded in 2001 by the International Association of Culture and Voluntary Work ‘Uomo e Società’ [‘Man and Society’] and named after Giuseppe Sciacca, a young architecture student noted during his short life for his sporting activities and social concern. He died prematurely aged 26, following an accident when his parachute failed to open during celebrations in honor of the Blessed Virgin of Divine Love in Rome’ (European Parliament 2011).

The bestowing of this award is a truly prestigious moment for Autumn, but more importantly showcases that at the root of her artistic prowess is the heart of a humanitarian.

Autumn’s nomination for this award was predicated on her genuine artistic aptitude and sincere desire to merge those creative talents with a profound sense of duty to the global community. She was the chosen recipient of the Award, because clearly her humanitarian and charitable efforts have been significant, comprise a large portion of her artistic activities, thus earning her this extraordinary worldwide recognition.

With over 100 television appearances, from Discovery Channel, CNN to the Today Show and PBS, Autumn has been inspiring people of all ages, beginning at the tender age of five. With over $5 million in sales of her artwork at the age of 13, Autumn de Forest is a force – but most importantly, she is a force for good.

Her humanitarian and charitable efforts have generated hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Red Cross, Sandy Relief Fund, Habitat for Humanity, and many other important organizations.

In fact, her efforts to change the world for the better have attracted the attention of one of the world’s greatest institutions: The Vatican.
