Romero Britto, Anthony Kennedy Shriver of Best Buddies, and Montblanc have collaborated to help raise funds and awareness for Best Buddies.

Best Buddies is an organization founded by Shriver in 1989 that creates employment and leadership opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Montblanc, the iconic writing instrument company, has developed three John F. Kennedy Special Edition pens. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the Best Buddies organization. Kennedy represented change to his generation, and his nephew, Shriver, is channeling that same spirit by providing more opportunities for today’s generation through Best Buddies.

Britto, a Park West Gallery artist, is heavily involved with the organization as a member of its board of directors. Britto added his own touch to the project by creating a portrait of President Kennedy and First Lady Jacqueline titled, “The American Dream.” The presidential couple is depicted in Britto’s brightly colored Neo-pop world. The inspiration for this artwork stems from Kennedy, democracy, hopes, and dreams. Britto states, “America is still the country of the future because it is a place here that people expand their imagination.”

The world-renowned artist has had a busy year so far with several projects in the works. Britto has also been selected to be an ambassador for the 2016 Summer Olympics that will be held in his native Brazil.

Park West Gallery is proud to represent Britto and make his works available to collectors the world-over, including three-dimensional works exclusively offered by Park West.
