Claude Fossoux (1946–)

Claude Fossoux was born in Paris, in 1946. His father was a joiner and his mother a laundress. From 1970 to 1975, Fossoux took lessons at the Paris National School of Fine Arts. He met two lecturers who determined his destiny:

  • Carson, who taught him the techniques of the great masters of the Louvres, such as Fragonard and Renoir, whom he enjoyed imitating.
  • Nicolas Vacker, who taught him the techniques of the Flemish Painters, including Van Eick.

After several jobs in real estate and house decoration, he dedicated himself to painting and exhibited in various galleries in Paris (Feinstein Gallery, Dimpoulos Gallery...) He opened his own gallery in the Ricardo Bofill building, Place de Catalogne, in Paris. His early success was never contradicted. He has exhibited in Germany, in England, in Japan and in the United States (Findlay Gallery).
