SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Sept. 30, 2016 – Park West Gallery, known for fine art auctions on cruise ships and its art gallery in Detroit, will have the pleasure of hosting an exhibition starring Michael Godard.

Discover a world of fun and amazing art at the “Lights, Camera, Olives!” exhibition, featuring more than 30 new paintings by the “rock star of the art world.” The exhibition will be held Oct. 8 – Nov. 18 at Park West Gallery in Southfield, Michigan.

“The paintings are like a humorous, emotional bath,” Godard says. “Every painting might not be for every person, but everyone, I think, loves to have a laugh.”

Celebrate the first solo exhibition Godard has held at Park West Gallery and meet the artist in person during an opening reception on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Godard has appeared on A&E’s “Criss Angel’s Mind Freak” as well as on the Biography Channel, CTV, MTV and HBO. Godard’s paintings of animated olives and alcohol are loved by people young and old from all walks of life.

Park West Gallery Director David Gorman says every generation has an artist that defines that era, not only with their art, but by raising funds and awareness for issues that advance the human race.

“Norman Rockwell painted Ruby Bridges for the cover of Look magazine to promote civil rights. Peter Max created images for a series of posters following 9/11, where the proceeds went directly to the victims and their families,” Gorman says. “Michael Godard has created numerous images whose proceeds have directly benefitted St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, in hopes to prevent cancer in generations of children to come.”

Admission to the exhibition and gallery is complimentary. Park West Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays. For more information and to RSVP for the opening, call 248-354-2343 or email RSVP@parkwestgallery.com.
