Pangborn’s AIM in hot spot at ArtPrize

The annual ArtPrize competition in Grand Rapids, Michigan just kicked off, and it’s already creating quite a buzz around the art community. Pushing the conversation is Park West Gallery artist Dominic Pangborn’s entry.

His artwork “Michigan In Motion” is in a coveted spot for the competition. Positioned at the entrance to the DeVos Place Convention Center, the same location of the ArtPrize 2011 winner, Pangborn’s art-in-motion (AIM) piece showcasing Michigan sights has already garnered gasps of astonishment and looks of wonder from visitors, according to local news.

Hundreds of thousands of art enthusiasts will pass by the sought-after spot and view Pangborn’s artwork as they arrive. The first round of voting – ending Oct. 4 – already shows strong support for “Michigan In Motion.”
