More of a good thing – to the Max

Whether it’s an attempt at a little publishing one-upmanship or just more of a good thing, where Peter Max’s iconic art is concerned, it’s a treat.

This year, the artist’s work has graced the cover of 10 of Niche’s city-specific magazines. In 2009, 20 of “Where” magazine’s 37 market-focused publications featured Max’s artwork, according to blogger “Mr. Magazine.” For folks keeping track, Max’s work has appeared on more than 2,000 magazine covers.

You can check out a side-by-side comparison of covers produced by each publisher for magazines representing the same cities. As much as each is stylistically Peter Max, they remain equally unique.

In addition to capturing the cover, AspenPeak magazine features an interview with Peter and the hosts of MSNBC’s Morning Joe – Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.
